NASA & BIBLE - Worth Reading

NASA & THE BIBLE

Thought this was pretty amazing and interesting!

For all the scientists out there, and for all the students who have a hard time convincing these people regarding the truth of the Bible, here's something that shows God's awesome creation, and that He is still in control.

Did you know that the space program is busy proving that what has been called 'myth' in the Bible is true?

Mr. Harold Hill, President of the Curtis Engine Company in Baltimore, Maryland, and a consultant in the space program, relates the following development.

'I think one of the most amazing things that God has done for us today happened recently to our astronauts and space scientists at Green Belt, Maryland .

They were checking out where the positions of the sun, moon, and planets would be 100 years and 1,000 years from now. We have to know this so we won't send up a satellite and have it bump into something later on in its orbits.

We have to lay out the orbits in terms of the life of the satellite and where the planets will be so the whole thing will not bog down.

They ran the computer measurement back and forth over the centuries, and it came to a halt. The computer stopped and put up a red signal, which meant that there was something wrong with either the information fed into it or with the results as compared to the standards. They called in the service department to check it out, and they said, 'What's wrong?' Well, they found there is a day missing in space in elapsed time.

They scratched their heads and tore their hair out. There was no answer.

Finally a Christian man on the team said, 'You know, one time I was in Sunday School, and they talked about the sun standing still.' While they didn't believe him, they didn't have an answer either, so they said, 'Show us, '

He got a Bible and went to the book of Joshua where they found a pretty ridiculous statement for any one with 'common sense.'

There they found the Lord saying to Joshua,

'Fear them not, I have delivered them into thy hand; there shall not a man of them stand before Thee.'

Joshua was concerned because he was surrounded by the enemy! And if darkness fell, they would overpower them. So Joshua asked the Lord to make the sun stand still! That's right... 'The sun stood still and the moon stayed and lasted not to go down about a whole day!'(Joshua 10:12-13)

The astronauts and scientists said, There is the missing day! They checked the computers going back into the time it was written and found it was close but not close enough. The elapsed time that was missing back in Joshua's day was 23 hours and 20 minutes. not a whole day.

They read the Bible, and there it was about [approximately] a day. These little words in the Bible are important, but they were still in trouble because if you cannot account for 40 minutes, you'll still be in trouble 1000 years from now...

Forty minutes had to be found because it can be multiplied many times over in orbits. As the Christian employee thought about it, he remembered somewhere in the Bible where it said the sun went BACKWARDS.

The scientists told him he was out of his mind, but they got out the Book and read these words in 2 Kings that told of the following story: Hezekiah, on his death bed, was visited by the prophet Isaiah who told him that he was not going to die. Hezekiah asked for a sign as proof. Isaiah said 'Do you want the sun to go ahead 10 degrees?'

Hezekiah said, 'It is nothing for the sun to go ahead 10 degrees, but let the shadow return backward 10 degrees.' Isaiah spoke to the Lord, and the Lord brought the shadow ten degrees BACKWARD! Ten degrees is exactly 40 minutes!'

Twenty-three hours and 20 minutes in Joshua, plus 40 minutes in Second Kings make the missing day in the universe! Isn't it amazing?

May God open the eyes of everyone to understand the importance of HIS Word..which is the truth...

A MOUSE TRAP - (Story)

In a farm, there lived a mouse, a chicken, a cow and a pig. They were thick friends and they lived happily in the farm. One day, the mouse looked through a crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife opening a package; what food might it contain?
He was aghast to discover that it was a mouse trap! Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed the warning, "There is a mouse trap in the house, and there is a mouse trap in the house." The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, "Mr. Mouse, I can tell you this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me; I cannot be bothered by it."

The mouse turned to the pig and told him, "There is a mouse trap in the house." "I am so very sorry Mr. Mouse," sympathized the pig, "but there is nothing I can do about it but pray; be assured that you are in my prayers." The mouse turned to the cow, who replied, "Like wow, Mr. Mouse, a mouse trap; am I in grave danger, Duh?" So the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected to face the farmer's mouse trap alone.

That very night a sound was heard throughout the house, like the sound of a mouse trap catching its prey. The farmer's wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness, she did not see that it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught. The snake bit the farmer's wife.

The farmer rushed her to the hospital. She returned home with a fever. Now everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup, so the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup's main ingredient. His wife's sickness continued so that friends and neighbors came to sit with her around the clock. To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig. The farmer's wife did not get well, in fact, she died, and so many people came for her funeral the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide meat for all of them to eat. For so many times, the little mouse gave caution about the danger but none of the others took it serious.

See! what happened? Everyone died except the tiny little mouse. The small creature which worried about everyone's safe living  was safe and comfortable now. So the next time you hear that someone is facing a problem and think that it does not concern you, remember that when the least of us is threatened, we are all at risk.

"  Consider other's problems as your problems !".

Life's Challenges - Face it

Sometimes the world appears
To be spinning out of control.
Sometimes there seems to be no end
To the distressing news.
Sometimes it feels like troubles
Are being piled on top of troubles.
Sometimes it can look as if there
Could never be a way forward.
And yet, that way forward is always
As close as your next thought.
For no matter how difficult and discouraging
Life may have become, with each dawning moment,
A new world of positive possibilities opens up to you.
From the darkest depths of despair,
Hope does indeed grow and take flight.
Out of difficult situations, new strategies emerge
For creating real value and spreading life's goodness.
Remember that the future does not have to be
An extension of the past.
For you can act right now to create
That future out of the abundance of positive possibilities.
Life always has its challenges,
And those challenges are what enable you
To bring real value to life.
Whatever the circumstance,
Step boldly forward and
Choose to move the world positively ahead.

Facts of life...

IF U HAVE NEVER.... THEN HOW WOULD YOU...

If you never felt pain, then how would you know that I am a Healer?

If you never had to pray, How would you know that I am a Deliverer?

If you never had a trial, How could you call yourself an overcomer?

If you never felt sadness, How would you know that I am a Comforter?

If you never made a mistake, How would you know that I am a forgiver?

If you knew all, How would you know that I will answer your questions?

If you never were in trouble, How would you know that I will come to your rescue

If you never were broken, Then how would you know that I can make you whole?

If you never had a problem, How would you know that I can solve them?

If you never had any suffering, Then how would you know what I went through?

If you never went through the fire, Then how would you become pure?

If I gave you all things, How would you appreciate them?

If I never corrected you, How would you know that I love you?

If you had all power, Then how would you learn to depend on me?

If your life was perfect, Then what would you need me for?

Feel God in all ur life's situations...  You ll realize His love for U....

A New Hope ! ! !

A NEW HOPE

“Danny...! Danny...!” – the sound came from the dining hall of Danny’s home. It was his mother who called him for dinner. But there was no response for her call. After a short search, she found her son Danny standing silently in the balcony, staring at the skies. He seemed to be depressed. On seeing her son’s face the mother understood that something was wrong and she could guess the reason too.

Just a few months ago, Danny has finished his graduation and being one among the toppers in his batch, he was sure that somehow he would get a fine job. All of his friends have got placed in reputed companies while Danny, in spite of showing a good performance in his interviews, could not get through any one of them. He felt that his life was a total mess. He was much worried about his future as it was unpredictable and hazy and he lost all his hopes regarding it. This is the reason for his melancholic mood.

His mother came closer to him, placed her hand softly on his shoulder and asked him pointing out the skies, “My dear son, what do you see there?” With much agony in his heart, he replied with a deep sigh, “A dark sky….. as dark as my future”. Then he started sharing with his mother, everything that made his heart heavier and he burst into tears like a small child.

His mother put her hand around his shoulder, patted him, wiped his tears and said, “My dear Danny, this is quite natural in life’s process. Losses, confusions, and sorrows are a part of life. And this will make you stronger and stoic to face anything in your life”. She continued after a short pause, “My son, do you know something…? It is not an accident that you came to this earth! The Lord has created you with a purpose and you are here to fulfill that purpose (His will) only. You may have great ambitions in your life but remember that the Lord also has special plans for your future (Jeremiah 29:11). If you execute His ‘will’, He will also fulfill His promise for you (Job 23:14). So, don’t worry about anything that happens in your life. Just ask God and do what He says; surely, He will lift you up (1 peter 5:6). Be happy my dear son, the Lord will do everything for you (Psalm 37:4; 138:8)”.

Now Danny felt as if all his worries and burdens have been washed away. They both prayed. He felt divine peace in his heart (Jeremiah 31:16). Danny’s mother smiled and asked him, “Danny, now what do you see in the sky?” This time with a clear voice he replied, “A beautiful moon in the sky with billions of stars mummy!”

Yes! my friends, you may also be in a similar situation like that of Danny but whatever the problem may be, remember this alone - Our Lord God is our only hope and our future is in His hands (Psalms 31:3).

God Bless You all !!!
